NORMAL FILM COATING SYSTEMS
Innomix offers a wide range of tablet coating options, once tablets are pressed. Coatings are ideal for tablets that have an unpleasant taste or look, and can also ensure large tablets are easier to swallow due to a smoother finish.
Tablet coatings can also extend the shelf-life of components that are sensitive to moisture or oxidation.
Our tablet coatings are stable and strong enough to survive the handling of the tablet, whilst ensuring tablets do not stick together during the coating process.
If the active ingredient of a tablet is sensitive to acid, or is irritant to the stomach lining, an enteric coating can be used, which is resistant to stomach acid, and dissolves in the less acidic area of the intestines. Coatings facilitate greater control over the rate of dissolution of the drug in the gastrointestinal tract, allowing targeted dissolution within the desired area of the digestive system (such as the stomach, or the large intestine or colon) where the active ingredients are best absorbed.
